VISA INFORMATION FOR ISOO RIO 2026 ATTENDEES
Ensure a smooth journey to Brazil for ISOO Rio 2026, please review the following Visa guidelines:
DETERMINE YOUR VISA REQUIREMENTS
Brazil’s Visa policies vary based on nationality and reciprocity. To check if you need a visa, you can consult the official list provided by the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs at this link:
Official list by Country – click here
Even though this list is updated on a regular basis; Visa policies are subject to change. We strongly advise attendees to verify the latest requirements with the nearest Brazilian consulate or embassy near you, and start the process three months prior to travel.
The need for a visa to Brazil is related to the person’s nationality and not the residence.
If you need a Visa Invitation Letter to complete your documentation, once your registration is paid, you can log into your profile at any time and download your personalized letter.
IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR U.S.A, CANADIAN, AND AUSTRALIAN CITIZENS:
On April 10, 2025, Brazil reinstated visa requirements for citizens of the United States, Canada, and Australia. It’s recommended to apply at least three months before your planned travel date to allow for processing time.
If you already possess a valid physical visa in your passport for your visit’s purpose, you do not need to apply for a new visa. Ordinary passport holders from Australia, Canada and the United States can apply for eVisa (Electronic Visa) at https://brazil.vfsevisa.com/ – VFS eVisa is the exclusive company authorized by the Brazilian government to provide a platform and call center service for tourist and business visa applicants – VIVIS
We strongly recommend applying for your eVisa in advance to prevent travel disruptions caused by delays or missed connections. Most commonly used browsers such as Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge are fully supported for the visa application process.
REGARDLESS OF VISA REQUIREMENTS, ALL TRAVELERS SHOULD ENSURE THE FOLLOWING:
- Passport validity of at least six months beyond the date of entry
- At least one blank passport page for entry stamps
- Proof of accommodation in Brazil
- Evidence of sufficient funds for the duration of stay
- Return or onward travel ticket
While we strive to assist you in preparing for your trip to Brazil, please note that Visa issuance and entry permissions are the sole responsibility of Brazilian immigration authorities. The ISOO Rio 2026 Organizing Committee cannot guarantee Visa approvals or be held liable for any travel disruptions. We kindly encourage all participants to plan ahead and consult official sources for the most up-to-date information.
We look forward to welcoming you to Rio de Janeiro and wish you a safe and smooth journey!
